What is the most popular energy saving measure carried out by home owners in 2023?

Even though household energy bills have dropped slightly, the UK has a “new normal’ when it comes to the average unit cost. With this in mind, homeowners are actively embracing energy saving improvements.

Energy efficient windows is THE number one energy saving measure desired by home owners. A survey of UK surveyors found that 86% listed energy efficient windows as the key improvement with much heralded solar panels and air source heat pumps sitting a relatively low demand of 19% and 17% respectively.

With building regulations becoming more and more stringent when it comes to windows, the fenestration industry, which has been regarded as merely “part of the mix” in house building, is now the number one component factor when it comes to designing energy efficient houses.

The National Glass Group chose the colour green for our brand with full intended purpose as it displays the group culture of embracing tomorrow – today.
Our members are strictly vetted for quality, investment in workforce, certification and financial strength, but they also have to be environmentally progressive.

We firmly believe that the fenestration industry is on the cusp of of a revolution as builders and architects seek out both maximum energy efficiency without sacrificing design and strength, and home owners seek out energy efficient windows that cut the bottom line on their energy bills.

The National Glass Group members are embracing the revolution with green hands.
